Thiruparappu Waterfalls
Thirparappu Waterfalls, a handmade waterfall in Kanyakumari:
Thirparappu Waterfalls are located in Tamil Nadu's Kanyakumari District, just over two miles from the Thirparappu Dam. The dam and waterfalls were intended to irrigate neighboring agriculture, but they also serve as a location to rest. This site is regarded as one of the nicest spots to visit in Kanyakumari and is well worth spending an afternoon.
Visitors on this gorgeous trek will be surrounded by forest and water, and they may even see elephants being cared for by locals.
Near the waterfalls is an ancient Hindu temple going back to the ninth century that is easily accessible. There is also a pool and playground for kids. Boating is available in the upper region of the falls, near the dam.
Thirparappu Water Falls is about 55 miles from Kanniyakumari. The Kodayar falls in Thirparappu, about 13 km from the Pechiparai dam. The river bed is rough and about 300 feet long. The water falls from a height of over 50 feet and flows for around seven months per year. The entire bed above the falls is a single rocky mass that stretches about a quarter-kilometer upstream to the famed Thirparappu waterfalls weir, which was created to give water to the rice fields. There is a temple devoted to the river on either side of the river. On the left bank of the river, between the water falls and the weir.
